iPhone 17 is officially launched. Apple has unveiled its most anticipated iPhone lineup, featuring expected specifications, pricing, and stunning build quality. While a range of products were unveiled at the Awe-Dropping event, the major attraction was iPhone 17 Air.
Not just the iPhone 17 series, this event also introduced advanced wearables and audio devices. Apple CEO Tim Cook and his team showcased performance, design, and AI advancements across all the gadget sections, whether it's iPhone, Apple Watch, or AirPods.
Apple introduced four new iPhones as expected from the beginning: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The base iPhone 17 starts from $799 (approximately Rs. 82,900 in India). This standard model features a 6.3-inch ProMotion display, A19 chip, 48MP Dual Fusion rear cameras, and an 18MP Center Stage front camera, which automatically captures selfies.
The star of the event, iPhone 17 Air, is as slim as expected. With a 5.6 mm thin design, it’s the slimmest iPhone ever. The price of this device starts at $999 (approximately Rs. 1,19,900). Departing from the base model, 17 Air runs on a more powerful A19 Pro chip along with Apple’s first in-house modem and wireless chip.
Next in line are the two premium models: iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both models feature aluminum bodies with vapor-chamber cooling, A19 Pro chipsets, and a 48MP triple-camera setup. While the former starts at $1,099 (approximately Rs. 1,34,900), the latter is more expensive, and buyers need to spend $1,199 (approximately Rs. 1,49,900).
Apart from these, the iPhone 17 lineup is also introducing iOS 26. However, the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to launch iOS 26 to the older devices as well, around the middle of the month.
The iPhone lineup was the most notable release, but Apple’s wearables and audio devices also received major updates at this event. AirPods Pro 3 was revealed, and users can purchase it for $249.
These AirPods now come with noise cancellation, an improved fit, a heartbeat sensor, and live voice translation. The best part is that it can work for up to 8 hours on a single charge.
Apple Watch Series 11 was also unveiled at the event, starting at $399 (approximately Rs. 46,900 in India) alongside Watch SE 3, priced at $249 (approximately Rs. 25,900 in India).
These two devices bring improvements in health statistics, including hypertension detection, sleep tools, 5G support, always-on displays, faster charging, and new gestures.
The upgraded version of the Watch Ultra 3 also made its way to the event, featuring satellite messaging, a larger display, and extended battery life. This device starts at $799 (around Rs. 89,900 in India).
All these new devices, including iPhone models, will be available to purchase from September 19, with pre-orders opening on September 12.

Apple’s 2025 hardware lineup brings functional upgrades across its ecosystem but lacks major surprises. The iPhone 17 series, especially the new Air model, adds meaningful improvements, though nothing groundbreaking. Even the AI assistant Siri remained unchanged.
The pricing of the models remains premium, especially for Indian consumers. The base iPhone 17 model is still more affordable compared to the Pro Max 2TB, which costs nearly Rs. 2,29,000, and remains out of reach for casual buyers.
