Apple reportedly canceled two MacBook models that were in development, according to research firm Omdia. The canceled products include a large foldable MacBook and a larger OLED MacBook.
The cancellations come as Apple continues to expand OLED displays across its Mac and iPad lineup. However, the tech giant appears to be changing which products will receive the technology.
According to Omdia, Apple scrapped development of a foldable MacBook that would have measured between 16.1 and 18 inches when fully opened.
The device had already faced delays. It was previously expected to enter production in 2026, although earlier reports generally described it as a large-screen foldable iPad rather than a MacBook.
Omdia’s latest research note now suggests Apple canceled the project altogether as a MacBook. The device would have represented a major change to Apple’s laptop lineup, particularly given its expected display size.
Apple also reportedly canceled a second MacBook featuring a larger OLED display.

Omdia says Apple had been developing a MacBook with an OLED screen measuring between 14.4 and 16.1 inches. The laptop would have occupied a separate position between the existing MacBook Pro sizes and the larger foldable MacBook.
With both products reportedly canceled, the 14.3 to 16.3-inch size range will seemingly remain exclusive to the MacBook Pro lineup.
The cancellations do not mean Apple is abandoning OLED displays. According to Omdia, the company’s broader plan to bring OLED screens across its entire iPad and MacBook lineup remains unchanged.
What appears to be changing is which products will receive OLED panels and the specific OLED technology used in those devices.
Apple is therefore still expected to expand OLED adoption, although its upcoming MacBook lineup may differ from earlier reports and expectations.
