Another GTA 6 leak has fallen apart. Since the August 27 Netflix showcase of GTA 6 was scheduled, rumors about the game were once again fueled. A screenshot making rounds online claimed that Netflix would stream three GTA 6 episodes on August 27. The listing showed episodes lasting 23, 24, and 18 minutes. Reportedly, the screenshot mentioned that it was from the Netflix Portugal listing. The listing, however, disappeared from Netflix Portugal’s website immediately, giving the impression that someone made a mistake.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that a Netflix event called Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look is coming on August 27. However, the company never mentioned that it would be split into three episodes. After the initial excitement, fans soon questioned the image, noticing problems with the layout. For example, on the real Netflix, the Episodes section appears above More Details; the screenshot had it below.

Netflix generally strictly guards unreleased content, even series like ‘Stranger Things’ never had this type of leak. Thus, fans were quickly convinced that it was a fake image. A similar page could also be made using simple browser tools, which made the claim even less believable.

Fake Listing Adds to GTA 6 Hype

The fake listing says a lot about the current GTA 6 hype. Rockstar has kept most details about the game under wraps. This has pushed fans to look closely at every screenshot, post and online discovery. That’s why even a simple image can quickly become a big story. Once hundreds of people share it, checking whether it is real becomes harder. This is why fans should look for official sources before treating a leak as fact.

The fake three-episode listing does not mean the Netflix event itself is fake. Rockstar has confirmed the August 27 Extended Look. What fans will see during the event is still unclear. For now, the best move is simple. Trust what Rockstar confirms and treat random screenshots with care. GTA 6 fans will likely see many more leaks before launch, but not every leak deserves attention.
