Months ahead of its expected launch, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G is already making a buzz. According to reports, the smartphone will feature a redesigned camera and one of the most sought-after display upgrades in recent years.
Early leaks revealed that Samsung will introduce the latest OLED technology, supported by the advanced M14 material integrated into Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G devices. Users are expected to benefit from better colour accuracy, enhanced power efficiency and longer display lifespan.
One of the most hyped features for Samsung’s next flagship is Colour on Encapsulation (CoE) technology. To overcome the major drawback of M13-based panels, which use polarisers to increase the thickness and energy use, CoE builds the colour filter directly into the OLED encapsulation layer.
This reduces the need for a separate polariser. Additionally, a new ‘Black Pixel Define Layer’ reduces reflections, improving contrast. As per several leaks, M14 integrates Deuterium hosts across RGB emitters, improving efficiency and substantially extending panel lifespan. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G will be the smartphone giant’s first non-foldable device with CoE technology.
The upcoming flagship of the tech giant is slated to support 60W wired fast charging paired with a 5,000mAh battery, a huge leap from the current 45W limit. Qualcomm’s upcoming 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset and an upgraded vapour cooling chamber may also be integrated in the smartphone.
Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a pill-shaped camera island is expected to replace the familiar floating camera lenses in this upcoming flagship.
If the usual trend is followed, Samsung might introduce Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G in January 2026 alongside the other two members of the lineup. This includes the new Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro and the Galaxy S26 Edge. However, there is no official confirmation regarding these details.
For the base model, the starting price is expected to be around Rs 1,59,990 in India.
According to other leaks, Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to feature Private Display and Privacy Display, which are in the early phase of development. Users may manually select the privacy levels, from low to maximum privacy, by dimming the display in crowded areas.
Another report claimed that Galaxy S26 Edge and the other pro variants may also feature Flex Magic Pixel screen technology, which Samsung Display showcased last year. This unique technology adjusts the viewing angle to prevent others from seeing the screen, paired with AI.
The report highlights certain strings that indicate the feature's functions, while others show that it can activate Privacy/Private Display in crowded environments. This privacy-focused feature will also reportedly allow Galaxy S26 Ultra users to toggle between “Manual” settings and “Maximum Privacy,” with the latter, as described, providing “even stronger privacy protection” by dimming the display.
Samsung explained that, “when a user opens a banking app in public, AI can detect the surroundings and boost security using OLED screens with Flex Magic Pixel technology.” “Unlike privacy films that reduce brightness and distort images, this tech offers the same privacy without affecting display quality,” the report added.
From upgraded displays to battery performance, Galaxy S26 Ultra seems ready to dominate the flagship game. Despite any official confirmation, the countdown to Samsung’s next big leap has already begun, and fans eagerly await the smartphone’s arrival.
