Airtel Business launched Airtel IQ Gateway, a telco-grade network intelligence platform designed to bring multiple enterprise communication channels under one secure control system. The company describes it as India’s first such platform, combining network intelligence with enterprise messaging and fraud protection.
Airtel IQ Gateway brings SMS, WhatsApp, Rich Communication Services (RCS), business voice and number verification into a single platform. The solution is also designed to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework.
The move addresses a common challenge for enterprises that use several communication providers. Businesses often operate fragmented messaging systems with limited visibility into whether messages actually reach customers. Airtel said such gaps can lead to delivery failures, spam exposure and higher communication costs.
The platform gives enterprises a unified control centre with real-time analytics and delivery reporting. It also supports integration with existing communication workflows and vendor ecosystems.
A key feature of IQ Gateway is its network-level approach to fraud prevention. The platform integrates Airtel IQ Verify, which uses network, device and usage signals to identify suspicious account creation, potential account takeovers and unusual traffic patterns.
Airtel is also targeting financial losses linked to SMS pumping, where automated systems generate large volumes of OTP requests and inflate messaging bills. The company says IQ Gateway can help enterprises detect and limit such artificial traffic.
The platform also includes Silent Authentication, which verifies whether a mobile number matches the active SIM in a device. IQ Gateway also combines native DLT integration, automated vendor failover and intelligent routing across SMS, WhatsApp, RCS and voice. This can replace OTP-based verification for supported login and SIM-binding processes.
