Finding AI nudify apps online may be easier than many people think. A new study claims that social media platforms, especially YouTube and X, are helping users discover websites that offer these tools. The researchers say this is happening even though most major platforms have rules against harmful and abusive content. A latest report by The Institute for Strategic Dialogue has shed light on the current situation.
The researchers say many of these nudify websites receive millions of visits. Among these visits, social media accounted for 5.7 million between December 2025 and March 2026. According to the study, YouTube sends the biggest share of visitors to these websites, which is more than 1.82 million visits. It accounts for nearly 30% of all social media traffic. X comes next with about 20%, with over 1.3 million visits.
Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, and a few other platforms also send users to these sites, but in much smaller numbers. The report says videos, posts, and shared links are often used to direct people to AI nudify services.
The study also puts the spotlight on content moderation. YouTube says it removes content that promotes harmful or illegal activity and has rules against explicit material. X also says it does not allow non-consensual intimate content on its platform. Still, the researchers found that posts linking users to these websites remain available in many cases.

Facebook and Instagram have also announced policies against deepfake abuse and AI-generated explicit content. However, the report suggests there is a gap between the rules and what users actually see. Some posts stay online until someone reports them. Others are taken down, but similar content quickly appears again.
The study suggests that current moderation systems are struggling to keep up as AI tools spread across the internet. It also highlights the need for faster action if platforms want to stop harmful content from reaching more people.
