007 First Light crossed 4 million sales in just three months. The number gives IO Interactive a strong start for its James Bond project. The game was released on May 27, 2026, and from the very first day, the performance was exceptional. The game sold 1.5 million copies within the first 24 hours. The game puts players in the shoes of a young James Bond as he begins his career with MI6. It mixes shooting, stealth, driving, and gadgets across different missions.

On August 20, IO Interactive posted on its official X handle to share the milestone with gamers. The post reads, “Thank you for joining us on this journey and being part of James Bond's return to gaming.” Players loved the game for its balance of action, mission design, and a fresh take on Bond.

The game also lets them choose how to approach certain missions. They can rely on stealth or jump straight into the action. This mix gives the game a style that feels different from many other action games.

More 007 First Light Content is Coming

IO Interactive is not done with 007 First Light yet. The studio has already started adding new content and fixing issues reported by players. The game has received new TacSim missions, along with new weapons and rewards. The studio is also working on more content for players who want to spend more time with the game.

One of the bigger additions will be New Game+. This will give players another reason to return after finishing the main story. IO Interactive is also planning a new story mission featuring Bawma, along with more TacSim challenges and new gadgets.

These updates could help keep the player base active for longer. They also show that the studio has plans for the game beyond its launch.

A Strong Start for Bond franchise

Crossing 4 million sales is a major milestone for 007 First Light. More importantly, it gives IO Interactive a strong base to build on.

If the studio continues to support the game and players stay interested, this may not be the last time we see its version of Bond. For fans, that could mean more missions, new stories and more James Bond games in the years ahead.
