Reportedly, Elon Musk claimed that users who choose Twitter Blue will receive this blue verification badge. However, a company executive has since clarified that some verified accounts, such as major media outlets and governments, will receive a different official label.
Esther Crawford announced the news on Twitter, writing, "Many people have questioned how you'll be able to discern the difference between @TwitterBlue subscribers with blue check marks and accounts that have been confirmed as official, so when we launch, we'll add the "Official" label to some accounts." On accounts that have already been confirmed, the "Official" badge won't always be present, and it cannot be bought.
