On Thursday, India proceeded to ban the web addresses of nine offshore cryptocurrency trading platforms, including Binance, Kucoin, and Huobi and issued show cause notices, alleging that the sites were conducting business unlawfully within the nation. Financial Intelligence Unit India (FIU IND), an organization that handles information on questionable financial activities, issued the notifications under money laundering rules. The finance ministry said in a late-night announcement that these businesses, which are officially known as virtual digit asset (VDA) service providers, had broken the anti-money laundering statute.
