General Atomics enters into a strategic partnership with Indian startups for next-gen computer chips

To initiate upliftment in the 'Make in India' initiative, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has declared a strategic partnership with an Indian tech startup that generates next-gen computer chips, integrated circuits, and other semiconductor technologies. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) is happy to announce a strategic partnership with 3rdiTech which develops next-gen Computer Chips, stated Dr. Vivek Lall, chief executive of General Atomics Global Corporation.

Semiconductors technologies are going to be the most significant among trending technologies of this era. The team and capability being developed at 3rdiTech are representative of the new India under Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi's leadership, Lall said. He further mentioned that GA-ASI will work with 3rdiTech, one of the inaugural winners of the Indian Ministry of Defence's flagship iDEX Programme, in the transition of this cutting-edge capability onto some of India's platforms. General Atomics is committed to supporting Prime Minister Modi's ambition of an Atmanirbhar India, and such steps like these partnerships will be proven as a big step in the right direction, Lall said. Despite expanding technology cooperation between India and the US, the companies will now focus on co-developing state-of-the-art products for the Indian and global markets, as mentioned in the media release. GA-ASI has been functioning closely with the team at 3rdiTech for developing next-generation computer chips since 2021. This announcement comes as the two companies are originating to co-design and co-develop products.

This represents a viral change from today's landscape that is governed by Technology transfer from the US to Indian tech startups, the media release mentioned, adding that GA-ASI's alliance with 3rdiTech for developing computer chips creates the way for products designed and advancement in India to make it to the global supply chain. In April, the US Trade Representative said through a report that such notable initiatives like "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" is increasing India's self-sufficiency by promoting domestic industry and minimizing reliance on imported goods, noticing that American exporters encounter "notable" tariff and non-tariff barriers in the country.

GA-ASI, an affiliate of General Atomics, is the world's dominant unmanned aerial system. They generate and pioneer upgraded solutions for military, security, governance, environmental operations, and many more. They help customers with the greatest medium-altitude and small unmanned aircraft systems, and cutting-edge mission payload and exploitation technologies, according to the information on its website.
