Primary Responsibilities

As a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer at Cisco, you will:

  • Design, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architecture to generate business-critical metrics and analytics.

  • Develop robust data models and analytics frameworks to support Cisco's Industrial IoT services.

  • Create executive dashboards and SLA reports using visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define KPIs, source new data streams, and align analytics with business goals.

  • Ensure compliance, security, and performance of the data architecture across all projects.

  • Leverage big data tools like Snowflake, Hadoop, or Spark for high-volume processing and analysis.

  • Mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, and contribute to team strategy and planning.

  • Stay updated on emerging data engineering trends, analytics tools, and Cisco technologies to enhance team capabilities continuously.

  • Data Engineering: ETL pipelines, data warehousing, batch and stream processing

  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud

  • Soft Skills: Leadership, cross-functional collaboration, technical communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or analytics roles.

  • Expertise in Python, R, or Java for data processing and analytics.

  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

  • Hands-on experience with Tableau and/or Power BI.

  • Familiarity with Git/SVN and agile development practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data tools like Snowflake, Hadoop, or Spark.

  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.

  • Familiarity with IoT, networking, or cloud-based data infrastructure.

  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement
