NVIDIA data center systems, such as DGX and HGX, have become integral to the company's rapidly expanding enterprise and cloud provider business segments. These platforms integrate the full capabilities of NVIDIA GPUs, NVIDIA NVLink, NVIDIA InfiniBand networking, NVIDIA Grace CPUs, and a fully optimized NVIDIA AI and HPC software stack.
This role calls for a highly experienced technical architect responsible for the end-to-end architecture of data center system software, encompassing firmware, kernel drivers, operating systems, and user-mode drivers. The position involves cross-functional collaboration with internal component leads and close engagement with leading cloud service providers to support product realization and market integration.
1. Lead the system architecture for advanced server platforms in coordination with cross-functional engineering teams.
2. Collaborate with strategic customers to align product development with customer roadmaps and future deployments.
3. Interface with business partners and vendors to influence product design and ensure alignment with NVIDIA’s system needs.
4. Define and promote a technology roadmap that introduces new protocols and innovations aligned with the platform strategy.
5. Mentor engineering staff and emerging architects to cultivate leadership capabilities and technical excellence.
6. Make critical technical decisions under conditions of ambiguity and implement left shift strategies to reduce execution risk.
1. Extensive experience in server system architecture, especially at the software-hardware interface.
2. Demonstrated background in developing complex system software for accelerators such as GPUs, DPUs, or FPGAs.
3. Proficiency in out-of-band and in-band management architectures.
4. Familiarity with device management protocols including MCTP, PLDM, and RDE.
5. Understanding of system management protocols such as Redfish and IPMI.
6. Collaboration experience with platform security experts to evaluate and define tradeoffs between security and usability.
7. Proven track record of applying left shift methodologies to reduce risk in product execution.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
10. Minimum of 20 years in system architecture and design.
1. Knowledge of cloud and cluster-level deployment and management systems.
2. Contributions to industry standards bodies such as OCP and DMTF.
3. Familiarity with CXL architectures, along with an understanding of storage and networking technologies.
1. Base salary range: US$308,000 – US$471,500.
2. Final compensation is determined based on location, experience, and internal benchmarks.
3. Eligibility for an equity and comprehensive benefits package.
