Why is it so addictive to find answers to puzzles? Today’s NYT Connections puzzle holds the potential to defy even the most seasoned wordsmiths. These daily word puzzles, which are released daily by The New York Times, invite players to ascribe hidden relationships to 16 words, by arranging them into four groups of four words each.
This word puzzle, which was launched on June 12, 2023, during its beta phase, has certainly been a cultural hit, as it has been becoming just as popular as Wordle. Connections easily captivated players worldwide with Easy through Hard level vocabulary and logical reasoning tests.
The Connections puzzle for November 29, 2024, is a combination of simple word indicators merged with challenging wordwordplay.
Yellow Category: It is about tasks or projects that require sticking together.
Green Category: Has to do with standard units used to measure physical properties.
Blue Category: Contains Terms associated with the Major League Baseball players.
Purple Category: It features first words from iconic HBO show titles.
Yellow (Undertaking): Project, Endeavor, Enterprise, Venture
Green (Units): Hertz, Mole, Second, Volt
Blue (MLB Team Member): National, Ray, Tiger, Twin
Purple (HBO Show Titles): Curb, Game, Silicon, Boardwalk
Each player is given a 16 word, seemingly random grid. The aim of seeking these words is to group them into categories on its connection. Categories can be synonyms, cultural references or word play.
Each group is color-coded:
Yellow: Usually the easiest to guess.
Blue and Green: Moderate difficulty.
Purple: It is often clever wordplay, or subtle association.
Players guess four words by entering them. When player is correct he gets the group and when he is wrong he lose a life. The game ends, after four incorrect tries.
Start by looking for obvious groupings, such as shared themes or synonyms.
Pay attention to those tricky words which could fall into more than one category.
Sometimes overlapping clues will give you hints as to what groups they belong to, and clues inside that group yield the correct answer.
