Rockstar Games has released the GTA V Enhanced Edition for PC. This has brought major upgrades that match the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. Existing owners can download the free upgrade through their game launcher. The original Legacy version has also been removed from storefronts.

The update introduces ray-traced shadows and reflections, improved graphics settings and support for AMD FSR and Nvidia DLSS. Players with high-end hardware can now enjoy expanded aspect ratios, higher resolutions as well as better frame rates. PlayStation users can access adaptive trigger support with DualSense controllers.

GTA Online has also received a significant update. A new kernel-based anti-cheat system improves security. The Oscar Guzman Flies Again DLC adds new missions, vehicles, and wildlife encounters. Players can unlock the Western Duster 300-H airplane, the Buckingham DH-7 Iron Mule helicopter, and the Invetero Coquette D5 sports car.

The upgrade also includes the Career Builder feature. This offers new players a GTA $4,000,000 bonus to kick-start their journey. Rockstar has introduced HSW upgrades, Career Progress and new Time Trials. New vehicles, including the Coil Cyclone II and Pegassi Weaponized Ignus, are now available.

Technical advancements include faster loading times through SSD and DirectStorage compatibility. Dolby Atmos improves audio for a more captivating experience. Players must also complete a one-time Character Migration to transfer progress to the Enhanced Edition. Friends must also use the same version to be able to play together in multiplayer.

Rockstar has increased the minimum and recommended PC specifications for the new features. To celebrate the launch, GTA V is available at a 50% discount on Steam and the Epic Games Store until March 20.

The GTA V Enhanced Edition arrives as anticipation builds for GTA VI, expected to launch this autumn. A PC version may follow in early 2026.
