April 18 Quordle Solver: Expert Strategies for Today's Culinary & Nature-Themed Puzzle

Written By : Harpreet Singh Kapula

Quordle presents the ultimate word detective challenge, deciphering four five-letter words within nine attempts. Each guess provides vital clues through colored tiles: green for perfectly placed letters, yellow for correct letters needing repositioning, and gray for absent letters.

Game Origins

Inspiration struck when David Mah contemplated expanding a single-word challenge, giving birth to Quordle. Freddie Meyer's development expertise transformed the concept into reality before Merriam-Webster brought it into their family of word puzzles.

Strategy Tips

These simple tips can help you predict words using a diverse range of strategies.

Vowel Strategy

Predicting words with vowels is the best hint in Quordle. They frequently appear in English words in a common pattern, such as CVC, consonant-vowel-consonant. For example, try "HARSH" and "MERIT" from the previous day's Quordle game. Select "Past Games" from the "Daily Classic" drop-down menu, then select the 17 April 2025 game.

Elimination Strategy

Repeating letters is best suited for an elimination strategy. Half of the word can be guessed with little difficulty when a letter appears twice. Practise the hints from the 15 April 2025 game:
