CES 2025: Lenovo’s $3,500 Rollable Laptop Redefines Innovation

CES 2025: Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Unveils Rollable Display at CES

Rollable displays are a new addition to the laptop world, and Lenovo is ready to usher in the change. In January at the CES 2025, the company introduced the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 as an advanced AI and portable device equipped with a rollable display.

This ultra-expensive but super cool device is being marketed at $3,500 (approximately Rs 3,00,000) and has set a new standard in innovation within the PC segment.

Lenovo has been working on the rollable display for quite some time and showcased the idea at prior CES fairs. Now, the company has brought the concept to life and provided a whole new wrinkle to the ThinkBook line of laptops.

The rollable display can fold up and down at the push of a button with the assistance of a motor that pulls out the width of the 14-inch screen to 16.7 inches.

This innovation presents a distinct outline originating from normal foldable laptops. But durability of the hinge and the motor life still poses a concern. Lenovo seems quite sure, which brought this intellectual creation into the market with fine materials and shared more tests.

New ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 features Intel Core Ultra processor, that guarantees optimal performance for heavy workloads and multitasking. Unfortunately, laptops are thin and have a limited number of ports, meaning that even for users who need more interfaces, they will have to purchase an additional hub.

Again, the rollable display is refreshing news for a market that requires a new vision in PCs. It provides an innovative way of screening real estate for work and versatile tasks.

The company’s product in development targets foldable laptops because the concept of portable expandability could be presented as an effective counterpart to popular forms.

Although this will not be very popular, especially due to its high cost it will attract a few individuals such as niche customers and early adopters of new technology portrayed in the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6.

This form factor also requires careful optimization for Windows to present users with an intuitive interface when using the device.

Rollable displays are not far from becoming mainstream and this has made Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 ready to script the future of laptop designs.
