Unocoin vs BuyUcoin in 2026: Compare crypto trading fees, INR deposits, withdrawal charges, supported coins, investment features, and security for Indian investors

Cryptocurrency investors choosing between Unocoin and BuyUcoin should compare trading charges, supported assets, withdrawal costs, and regulatory compliance. They both allow trading of cryptocurrencies in rupees; however, their investment approaches and pricing differ.

Trading Fees: Which Exchange Costs Less?

Unocoin's support documentation mentions a 0.2% exchange fee for maker orders and 0.3% for taker orders. This excludes the 18% GST on fees. On Rs. 10,000 transactions, traders can expect Rs. 20 or Rs. 30 in fees before GST, respectively.

BuyUcoin's fee page lists a 0.24% maker/taker trading fee excluding GST. This means about Rs. 24 on a Rs. 10,000 transaction, assuming the advertised rate is applied for the chosen market. However, the actual execution cost could be different due to spreads, payment charges, and fee levels.

Deposits, Withdrawals and Custody

BuyUcoin states that it has no platform fees for deposits and that wallets provide free storage. However, fees may apply to deposits through banks, or network fees to the blockchain networks.

Unocoin lists the following withdrawal fees: Withdrawal fees for coins are network-specific, and withdrawal fees for INR are free. It also outlines a published custody policy of 0.0001 BTC monthly for accounts with cryptocurrency but that do not have qualifying activity, with exemptions.

Considering Bitcoin’s high trading price of Rs. 90 lakh, the registration fee would be Rs. 900 a month. Individuals who are not planning to trade or make withdrawals from their accounts should check to see if this policy applies to them.

Features and Supported Cryptocurrencies

Unocoin states that it offers over 100 cryptocurrencies, API trading, OTC services, and recurring purchases of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Its Systematic Buying Plan supports investments starting at Rs. 10 per interval, with zero transaction fees advertised for eligible purchases.

According to its website, BuyUcoin offers spot trading, wallet services, OTC access and derivatives trading. The availability of individual coins, order types, and leveraged products should be confirmed before depositing funds.

Regulation and Indian Crypto Taxes

Both exchanges say that they are registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit, India, but this does not mean that the investments will be safe. The virtual digital asset gains are subject to a 30% tax on the gains, along with other applicable surcharges and cesses. 1% tax at source is also applicable on qualifying transfers.

Liquidity, the ability to pull money, security precautions, and tax documentation should all be taken into account in addition to the advertised fees. For instance, a cheaper posted commission may still produce a worse purchase price if the order book is thin. Compare the effective amount of cryptocurrency received for the same rupee expenditure, not just the headline percentage.

Final Thoughts

Although buyUcoin has a flat fee, makerd pricing and recurring plans are alternatives with Unocoin. Unocoin's inactivity-related custody charges deserve particular attention from long-term holders. Neither platform removes cryptocurrency volatility, operating risks, or even possible restrictions in liquidity. Before picking either exchange, you should look at the live order-book spreads and final checkout fees.
