Hong Kong has been pulling out all the brakes in its attempt to become a global crypto hub, from recruiting mainland Chinese crypto businesses to floating proposals to test a digital dollar in its mortgage market. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority questioned the UK-based lenders and the Bank of China last month about why crypto exchanges were not allowed as clients, according to the newspaper.
