Klex’s Vampire Attack on KlaySwap: What to expect from the Biggest DeFi app on Klaytn?

Written By : Market Trends

Klex is the latest addition to Klaytn, a BFT-based blockchain that has been live since 2019.

KLEX Finance, newly-launched decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol on Kakao-backed smart contracts platform Klaytn, has started a raid against its rival, KlaySwap. According to an official statement shared by the KLEX Finance team on its Medium blog, a liquidity attack on KlaySwap, one of the first DeFis on Klaytn, has been initiated.

Since its launch, KLEX ecosystem is set to feature three types of liquidity pools, i.e., Weighted Pools, Stable Pools and Liquidity Bootstrapping Pools. Weighted Pools will allow crypto holders to farm yield on various assets in a Uniswap-like manner.

Not unlike Curve's StableSwap AMMs, Stable Pools of KLEX allow users to generate yield on stablecoins and tokenized indexes while Liquidity Bootstrapping Pools will be necessary for newly-launched tokens and their liquidity ecosystems.

Liquidity providers earn fees as well as KLEX token rewards. Its liquidity pools make the best use of your liquidity, increasing the efficiency of every dollar invested. Make impermanent loss a meme.

What is a Vampire attack?

Vampire attacks are gradually gaining prominence in the blockchain ecosystem as a potential marketing tactic. DeFi applications and protocols rely on liquidity to operate; without any trading activity, a liquidity pool eventually dries up.

A vampire attack happens to incentivise liquidity providers of another platform to stake their LP tokens, which represent supplied liquidity, to a new platform.

One of the most famous vampire attacks in history was by SushiSwap. On the 28th of August in the midst of new DeFi projects popping up pretty much every day, a new project called SushiSwap launched. The project quickly gained more and more traction in the DeFi community as it aimed at directly competing with Uniswap by forking the project and siphoning out liquidity with a process later called a vampire attack. The main goal of the project was to create a community-governed automated market maker and fairly distribute its token – SUSHI.

Klex and Klaytn: unbreakable bond

Klex is the latest addition to Klaytn, a BFT-based blockchain that has been live since 2019. It offers immediate finality, as well as a very high TPS rate that is built for scalability. These features will help Klex to compete with other swap platforms, and make its mark on the world of DeFi.

New developments give hope to investors especially, when the crypto markets are under pressure. DeFi is the future of finance, and with simple DeFi tools that operate on inexpensive mobile devices, people can access advanced financial services. Klex is making liquidity easier, and as the platform grows, more people will be able to access top-tier financial services from anywhere in the world.

The KLEX Token: Stake Now!!

KLEX is the governance token for its all-in-one DEX. You can stake KLEX tokens into VeKLEX, which gives holders farming yield boosters, rights to the protocol's treasury & fees, and voting rights on token reward emissions.
