The cryptocurrency market is currently on a see-saw trend trading on high and lows as it saw its global market capitalization dip by 2.68% to $1.06 trillion, from $1.08 trillion. The decline comes following an upward trajectory indicated earlier in the year. On the bright side, however, the total crypto volume did see a rise of 5.24% to $64.65 billion, up from $60.94 billion.
While top currencies Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) traded in the negative, crypto experts remain optimistic that the market will be predominantly bullish throughout the year. Big Eyes Coin (BIG), however, continued with their presale success with brand new offers and benefits for investors.
Having gained by 1.33% to surpass the $23,000 for a brief period, Bitcoin's (BTC) price dipped by 2.62% to trade at $22,618. The latest downtrend for Bitcoin places the top-ranked currency with a weekly decline of 4.91%.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin held a market capitalization of $437 billion and was trading at a 24-hour volume of $29.2 billion.
Despite the downward movement, experts indicate that Bitcoin is in the uptrend zone.
With the constant up and down trends over the past few weeks in the crypto market, Ethereum's (ETH) price has been sluggish and facing the uphill task of reaching the $1700 mark, albeit expert indications that it would do so in February. Similar to Bitcoin, Ethereum's price saw an overnight decline of 2.66% to trade at $1631.79.
At the time of writing, Ethereum held a market capitalization of $199 billion and a 24-hour trading volume of $8.6 billion.
While the top two leading cryptocurrencies Bitcoin and Ethereum had a poor past 24 hours, Big Eyes Coin (BIG), which is relatively new to the crypto scene made steady gains while continuing to rake in investors during its presale phase.
