The much-awaited Tata Capital IPO, one of India’s largest public offerings of 2025, closes for subscription today, October 8. The Rs. 15,512 crore issue opened on October 6, giving investors until 5:00 PM to participate in what market experts are calling a landmark listing opportunity.
Tata Capital IPO, valued at Rs. 15,511.87 crore, is being hailed as the largest IPO of 2025. The offering comprises both a fresh issue and an offer for sale (OFS). Under the OFS, Tata Sons will sell 23 crore shares, and International Finance Corporation (IFC) will offload 3.58 crore shares.
The company has fixed a price band of Rs. 310-Rs. 326 per share, and the IPO will be listed on both BSE and NSE.
Tata Capital raised Rs. 4,641.8 crore from 135 anchor investors on October 3. The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) emerged as the largest anchor investor, reinforcing institutional confidence.
GMP for the Tata Capital IPO has decreased to Rs. 6 from previous highs. According to this premium, the expected listing price may be at Rs. 332 per share, a modest gain of 2% over the upper price band.
According to analysts, while the GMP has cooled down, the sentiment remains positive given the company’s fundamentals and brand backing.
Mehta Equities values the IPO at a price-to-book (P/B) of 3.2x, viewing it as reasonably priced compared to peers averaging 4x, and expects “healthy long-term value creation.”
Canara Bank Securities has rated the IPO a “Subscribe for Long Term”, citing Tata Capital’s AAA rating, strong risk management, and favorable macroeconomic environment.
Anand Rathi Research noted that the issue is fully priced with a P/E of 32.3x and a P/B of 3.5x, recommending a “Subscribe for Long Term” view.
Tata Capital has shown considerable growth in gross revenue by 56% with profit growth of 10% for FY24 and FY25. The company is implementing credit risk reduction strategies to reduce the credit cost ratio below 1%, while simultaneously increasing secured lending.

Although Tata Capital IPO was well received from the institutional side, retail participation was moderate amid a weakening GMP. However, analysts think the pedigree of the Tata Group, solid balance sheet, and strategic digital initiatives make Tata Capital a strong long-term investment.
