Silver prices in India remain around Rs. 2.10 lakh per kilogram on November 6, as buyers prepare for Dhanteras, one of the biggest occasions for precious metal purchases. Rates moved marginally across major Indian cities, while international silver prices remained volatile amid shifting global economic conditions and uncertainty following the US midterm elections.

According to Goodreturns, silver is priced at Rs. 2,10,100 per kilogram in India at press time. This marks a Rs. 100 increase from the previous day’s rate of Rs. 2,10,000.

However, the movement was not uniform across cities, with some markets recording slightly lower rates.

Silver Prices in US and UK Markets

Silver traded around USD 52.12 per troy ounce in the US market on November 6, according to BullionByPost data. The corresponding UK silver price stood at approximately GBP 38.80 per troy ounce.

A troy ounce is about 31.1 grams. On a kilogram basis, these international prices translate to nearly USD 1,676 in the US and GBP 1,247 in the UK.

The Indian price of Rs. 2.10 lakh per kilogram is considerably higher than the converted international benchmark. However, the comparison is not directly equivalent, as Indian prices also reflect import duties, currency movements, local premiums and applicable taxes.

US Midterm Elections: What Could Happen to Silver Prices?

The November 2026 US midterm election results could remain an important factor influencing silver prices in the coming weeks. Democrats secured control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, weakening President Donald Trump’s legislative position.

The election outcome has contributed to pressure on the US dollar and Treasury yields, potentially supporting precious metals by making dollar-denominated commodities more attractive to investors.

However, the impact could change depending on the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decisions, inflation trends and the direction of the US dollar. Any dollar recovery or rise in bond yields could put pressure on silver.

For Indian buyers, the rupee-dollar exchange rate will also remain important, as a weaker rupee can make imported silver more expensive even when international prices remain stable.

With Dhanteras driving seasonal demand, domestic silver prices will continue to track international bullion movements alongside currency fluctuations and local market conditions.
