This AI app initially used all-human personnel to carry out online shopping operations

Online shopping has proven to be a lifeline for consumers and businesses during the pandemic. People continue to buy what they need, and businesses are able to sell despite being physically present. To enhance the effectiveness of online shopping, businesses and application developers are extensively using artificial intelligence. AI is performing some of the most tedious tasks that both consumers and businesses have to carry out. Recently, the Nate app has revealed that it uses AI to auto-fill customer information like filling out their credit card and address details for US$1 per transaction, saving them quality time while completing purchases through the Nate application.

Initially, the company suffered to bring vision into reality. The artificial intelligence-driven company indicated that before using AI to input customer information during the checkout process, the executives have actually hired employees in the Philippines to manually enter the data on retailers' sites for a significant portion of the transactions that Nate had facilitated in 2021. This means that without technology, sometimes the customers' orders were placed hours after they clicked 'buy' through the Nate app. Nate did not disclose its low-tech methods to its investors from whom the startup tried to raise money, according to a person with direct knowledge of fundraising discussions. But this eventually did not stop Nate from raising millions in its pursuit to launch something that is already quite easily available. At the end of last year, with just 100 transactions per day, Nate decided to run a promotion to enhance its business and market dominance, buying ads on Tiktok, TV, and public transit.

Finally, it demonstrates that artificial intelligence and online shopping go hand-in-hand driving the popularity of the brand and enhancing customer satisfaction.
