Democratizing AI Access

As part of IBM's efforts to bring AI to the table, "Granite 3.0" stands apart from its competitors in terms of accessibility. It aims to reduce the threshold of entry for businesses interested in generative AI.

IBM also offers a paid tool called Watsonx, allowing organizations to launch customized models in operations inside their data centres. IBM is making the new models available for commercial use on the Watsonx platform. Some variants also will be available via NVIDIA's software tools suite, so AI capabilities can be delivered to businesses seamlessly.

According to Dario Gil, IBM's Director of Research, the new models were trained using NVIDIA's latest H100 graphics processing units.

Expanding AI Applications: Catering to Business Needs

IBM intends to fulfill an interest among enterprises and businesses in leveraging generative AI for a wide range of AI applications in natural language, data, and customers.

The AI landscape is changing so fast that things might change fundamentally once the Granite 3.0 models come out. It may result in the innovation of more open and strong AI tools for businesses that enable them to cope with their respective market demands.
