This new AI tool can do wonders in editing to aid editors

Good news to all Adobe users! The software is soon going to add a new selection tool to its Lightroom which can aid photo editors to acquire the desired look with minimal manual efforts. This feature will be powered using AI technology allowing users to highlight photo subjects such as people, animals, and buildings with just a click to fine-tune color, tonality, lighting, and other aspects.

Adobe Photoshop has provided the select subject and sky replacement tools for some time but now Adobe is coming up with bringing those powerful masking capabilities to Lightroom and Lightroom Classic too. It can be helpful in making selective adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw. Adobe claims that this new feature is going to be significant in editing selective photos since the release of Lightroom 2.

When a user selects a portion of a photograph, which AI does, it identifies specific subjects according to the interest of the photographer. The selection is called a mask, this assists photographers with tasks such as making people in the shade stand out or brightening washed-out skies.

Pei Ketron, one of the Lightroom team members said that masking can enable you to make complex selections with a single click and then refine selections with accuracy and ease. The new AI technology is being incorporated into Adobe Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, and Photoshop's Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) tool. It will later be available on Windows computers, iPads, iPhones, Macs, and Android phones too.

The AI technology for masking techniques shows the growing demand and adoption of artificial intelligence to handle more complex data in photo editing software. The AI systems are trained to annotate data such as photos with human faces that will be in the spotlight.
