Overview

  • Freedom Super-App combines banking, payments, insurance, investments, government services, and lifestyle offerings within one digital platform, creating a broad base for AI-driven services.

  • AI capabilities already include voice commands, business automation, ChatGPT access, and compliance support, while a more advanced personal AI assistant remains under development.

  • The strategic opportunity lies in connecting these services through one intelligent interface while maintaining strong controls around data, transactions, approvals, and customer trust.

Digital finance is entering a tougher phase for banks. Customers want apps that understand what they need. They also want fewer steps and faster results. Freedom Super-App is moving toward this goal by letting users make requests in plain language. Its AI tools help support that change.

The wider ecosystem also gives the technology room to work across banking, payments, investments, insurance, and lifestyle services. The key question is how well Freedom can connect these services through one smart interface.

A Platform Built Around Many Services

Freedom Holding is listed on Nasdaq. Freedom Bank sits at the center of its ecosystem. The Super-App gathers banking, payments, insurance, government services, and lifestyle services in one place.

Two numbers describe its size. Freedom Bank reports more than 5.6 million Super-App users by mid-2026. The company's earnings release shows 2.59 million monthly active users in March 2026. A year earlier, that figure was 1.02 million. Monthly active users show regular activity better than total users do. Both figures come from the company.

Daily use shows a similar climb. Daily active users averaged 634,578 in March 2026, compared with 183,000 a year earlier. The group reported record revenue for fiscal 2026. Net income more than doubled, according to the company.

What Is Live and What Is Planned

Public statements show a clear gap between current tools and planned ones. The table below sets them side by side.

Command counts come from different announcements. They may follow different methods. A direct comparison would mislead.

The compliance tool matters for a reason beyond speed. The bank says it helps spot hidden patterns and prevent regulatory workarounds. Such work stays out of customer sight. Yet it shapes the trust a financial app needs.

The planned assistant is the largest step. Turlov spoke about it on 2 October 2026. He described users making natural-language requests instead of moving through each function. He also said such agents are harder to build than the company expected. Voice commands are not the same as an agent that plans and acts across services.

Why Connections May Beat Models

Strong AI models are easy to get. Freedom itself offers ChatGPT inside the app. The lasting edge may lie elsewhere. It may lie in what the model can reach.

A chatbot answers questions. An agent must act. That needs services to act on. Freedom has more of them than a typical banking app. Its group includes Freedom Bank, Freedom Broker, the insurers Freedom Life and Freedom Insurance, and lifestyle brands such as Arbuz.kz, Freedom Ticketon, and Freedom Travel. Turlov says products in one ecosystem lift each other and widen the customer base.

Property is a useful test case. Buying a home involves many linked steps. Through a deal with developer BI Group, users can lock in a price and submit a mortgage application inside the app. An assistant that guided those steps would cut the number of separate tasks for the customer.

In the future, an assistant could also link travel, payment, and insurance. That is a possibility, not a feature offered today.

Context adds another layer. A payment, a mortgage, an insurance policy, and a trip each leave a different signal. Those signals are hard to see when each service works alone. This is analysis, not a company claim.

Investing is linked in too. The bank says its cashback is paid in an investment currency called Freedom. It is accrued as exchange-traded notes. It gives clients shares of Freedom Holding. An assistant that explained such holdings in plain words could help first-time investors.

Risks That Come With Reach

Wider reach brings more risk. Three issues stand out. Trust comes first. A wrong answer from a chatbot costs little. A wrong payment costs much more. Clear confirmation before each action is essential.

Data comes next. One app that holds banking, travel, and shopping records carries a heavy privacy duty. Each added service adds more to protect. Plain consent rules and strong access controls would help.

Proof is the third issue. Most public figures come from company statements. Independent testing and customer experience will show how the tools perform. A financial agent also needs predictable results, a record of what it did, and clear approval points. Approval steps should stay simple. Customers must stay in control.

What Comes Next

Expansion adds a test of its own. Freedom Holding provides financial services in 22 countries. In March 2026, it agreed to buy about 99.32% of Turkish Bank A.S. A personal assistant would need to work across languages and rules in each market. The business voice assistant first supported Kazakh and Russian. Wider reach would need more languages.

Freedom is building an AI interface on top of a wide financial ecosystem. Voice commands and a chatbot are live today. The personal assistant is still ahead. An assistant can only act on what it connects to. That gives the ecosystem a potential edge. That edge may be hard for rivals to copy. Whether it holds depends on how the assistant performs after launch.

Final Thought

The next test will not be speed or accuracy alone. It will be restraint. An assistant that knows when to pause and ask for approval may earn more trust than one that simply does more. Banks that treat that pause as a feature, not a delay, will likely set the standard for AI in digital finance.

FAQs

1. What is the Freedom Super-App?
It is the digital app of Freedom Bank Kazakhstan, part of Nasdaq-listed Freedom Holding. It brings banking, payments, insurance, government services, and lifestyle services into one place, so customers don't have to jump between separate apps.

2. Which AI features can customers use today?
Customers can use a voice assistant that handles more than 140 commands, and they can chat with ChatGPT inside the app at no extra cost. Businesses also get voice tools with 119 commands for tasks like tax, payroll, transfers, and fines. Behind the scenes, AI compliance checks analyze transactions within minutes.

3. What is the personal AI assistant, and when will it arrive?
It is a planned assistant that would let users make requests in plain language rather than navigating each function. CEO Timur Turlov has targeted the first stage for 2026. He has also admitted that building such agents is harder than the company expected, so the details may shift.

4. Why does the ecosystem matter more than the AI model itself?
Strong AI models are widely available, and Freedom even offers ChatGPT in the app. A chatbot only answers questions, but an agent has to act, and that requires real services to connect to. Freedom's group spans banking, brokerage, insurance, travel, and shopping, which gives an assistant more to work with than a typical banking app offers.

5. What are the main risks of an AI banking assistant?
Three stand out: trust, data, and proof. A wrong payment costs far more than a wrong chatbot answer, so clear confirmation before every action is essential. Holding banking, travel, and shopping data in one app also demands strong privacy protection. Finally, most performance figures come from the company itself, so independent testing and real customer experience will show how well the tools truly work.
