ASUS Oxiis E250G1 Turns Regular Bikes Electric: ASUS has entered the e-bike conversion space with the Oxiis E250G1 Intelligent Bike Booster. The clip-on device attaches to a bike's seatpost and adds electric assistance without replacing the wheel or changing the gears.

How Does the ASUS Bike Booster Work?: The Oxiis uses a friction-drive system. A motorised roller presses directly against the rear tyre to provide power. This means riders can keep their existing bicycle instead of installing a hub motor or replacing the wheel.

250W Motor Delivers Extra Power When Needed: The E250G1 has a 250W rated motor designed to provide assistance while cycling. ASUS has also highlighted Adaptive Boost Technology, which can automatically adjust assistance when riders face slopes or headwinds.

Up to 51 Km Range With Removable Battery: The booster packs a removable battery of around 159Wh. ASUS says the system can deliver up to about 50–51 km of range, depending on the riding mode and conditions. Eco mode focuses on extending the distance between charges.

Lightweight Design Makes It Easy to Carry: The complete unit weighs about 3.7–3.8 kg, including the battery. It is designed to be attached and removed easily, with ASUS showcasing a setup that can be carried when electric assistance is not needed.

Works With Many Types of Bicycles: The Oxiis supports wheels from 16 to 29 inches, including 700C setups, and tyres up to around 60 mm wide. It can suit city, road, gravel and folding bikes, although some bicycle designs are excluded.

Three Riding Modes Plus Wireless Smart Sensing: Riders can choose between Eco, Normal and Sport modes. A wireless cadence sensor detects pedalling, while the companion app adds controls for the system. A built-in rear light also includes braking detection for added visibility.

USB-C Charging Takes About 2 Hours: The removable battery supports 100W USB-C Power Delivery charging and can reach a full charge in roughly two hours. The unit is also designed to handle wet conditions, with ASUS showing water-resistant protection for everyday riding.

Launch Date, Price, Plus Key Limitations: ASUS is expected to bring the Oxiis E250G1 to market later in 2026. Reports put the expected price around €500–€600, but official regional pricing and availability remain unconfirmed. Full-suspension bikes and carbon seatposts are not supported, while rough surfaces may affect performance.
