Qualcomm is Making Out XR2 Chips Faster than VR Headsets

According to a new report, Qualcomm has started to test and lend out its new Snapdragon XR2 gen 3 and xR2+ gen 3 processors.

These are intended to power the next generation of virtual reality headsets.

More recently, Brad Lynch, a VR analyst, published a leaked cargo manifest that suggests Qualcomm is sending out SXR2350 chips — believed to be the Snapdragon XR 2+ Gen 3.

Qualcomm is shipping them "much faster than the time it took to make the difference between the Gen 1 and the Gen 2," writes Lynch in the same thread.

The power of this new chip makes it ideal for productivity headsets such as Meta Quest Pro 2. The Meta Quest Pro 2 is expected to have a resolution of 3,840 x 2,560.
