Instagram’s Safety Updates

One of the most notable updates of Instagram is the introduction of "Teen Accounts" designed to protect users.

The teen accounts are set to private by default, making it harder for strangers to view or interact with teen profiles.

The platform now automatically hides posts that promote self-harm, eating disorders, and hard drug use from teens’ feeds and searches.

Parents can now set maximum daily screen time, monitor the topics their teens are viewing, and see who they are chatting with.

Instagram has partnered with Yoti, a digital identity verification company, to implement new age verification technology.
