Flying taxis are no longer science fiction. Countries worldwide are testing electric air taxis, with commercial passenger services expected to begin between late 2026 and 2027.

China leads the race with EHang's autonomous EH216-S air taxis already conducting passenger trial flights. New smart factories are scaling production to support future demand.

The United States is expanding real-world eVTOL testing across 26 states through the FAA's eIPP program. Companies like Joby Aviation and Archer Aviation aim to launch routes by 2026.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are preparing some of the world's first commercial flying taxi networks. New vertiports and electric air taxi services are expected to launch in 2026.

India is building the foundation for urban air mobility. Government-backed air taxi corridors in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune are under active planning.

Flying taxis promise faster travel, reduced traffic, and emergency transport benefits. However, high costs, safety certification, charging infrastructure, and public acceptance remain key challenges.
