Netflix has unveiled the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, a new programme designed to develop the next generation of storytellers across India's fast-growing creative industries.
The initiative is being launched in partnership with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to strengthen creative talent across the country.
The programme will focus on training creators in animation, visual effects, gaming and comics, supporting India's expanding AVGC ecosystem with industry-ready skills.
Netflix will also help develop talent for accessibility services, including audio description writers and voice professionals, making entertainment more inclusive for wider audiences.
The initiative builds on Netflix's decade-long journey in India, where the streaming platform has produced more than 200 original titles and filmed across over 100 locations.
Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos described India as a key market for the company, saying its global growth story would not be complete without the country.
Sarandos also highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence, saying Netflix is already using AI across pre-visualisation, production planning, visual effects and post-production workflows.
The new initiative reflects Netflix's continued investment in India's creative economy by supporting emerging talent with industry-focused learning opportunities.
As demand for digital entertainment grows, programmes that combine storytelling, technology and creative skills are expected to create new career opportunities across the media industry.
