Google Streamlines Process for Deleting Explicit Deepfakes
Shiva Ganesh
Google has made it easier for victims to report explicit deepfakes by streamlining the removal request process
Once a removal request is approved, Google's systems will attempt to filter similar explicit results across related searches for the affected individual
Google will scan for and remove any duplicates of the flagged deepfake images once they are successfully removed
Google has taken steps to downrank explicit deepfakes to prevent them from appearing high up in search results
These efforts are designed to give victims added peace of mind by reducing the likelihood of similar content reappearing in the future
