How to Delete and Archive Chats in ChatGPT Easily

Open ChatGPT and locate your chat history in the sidebar.

Hover over the chat you want to manage.

Click the three dots menu next to the chat title.

Select Delete to remove the chat permanently.

Confirm deletion—this action cannot be undone.

To archive, choose Archive from the menu instead.

Archived chats disappear from the main sidebar view.

View archived chats via Settings → General → Manage.

Unarchive or delete archived chats whenever you wish.
