Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella earned $90.63 million in total compensation during FY2026, according to the company's latest proxy statement.

His total compensation includes salary, stock awards, performance bonuses and other benefits, not just his regular monthly pay.

Microsoft's median employee received annual compensation of $215,057 during the same financial year, according to company disclosures.

This puts Nadella's total compensation at 421 times the annual pay of Microsoft's median employee.

Stock awards made up the largest portion of Nadella's reported compensation, valued at approximately $77.57 million.

Reports also say Microsoft has asked around 60,000 employees to consider voluntary exits, adding to workforce concerns.

The figures have renewed conversations about executive pay, employee compensation and the growing gap within large technology companies.

Always look beyond salary figures. Stock awards, bonuses and other benefits can make a major difference in total compensation.

Microsoft's pay ratio highlights how differently employee and executive compensation can look within the same company.
