TikTok Explores AI-Generated Search Results in Testing Phase

TikTok is exploring a more comprehensive search results page that incorporates generative AI.

The function, which looks to be new, is named "search highlights."

A fragment of AI results appears at the top of certain search results pages, and clicking on it takes you to a new page with the entire response.

In rapid experiments, I was able to get AI responses for questions regarding recipes or themes such as "best laptops 2024."

According to the results page, the material was created using ChatGPT, and TikTok shows the content "when [the algorithm] finds them relevant to your search
