This week, star Scarlett Johansson fought with OpenAI and stated that she and her agency had rejected being the voice of ChatGPT's new product.

But when it was revealed, it sounded just like her. OpenAI denies that there was a deliberate replication.

It's a great example of precisely what the creative industries are concerned about being replicated and eventually overtaken by artificial intelligence.

All of this evokes memories of the macho Silicon Valley titans of the past. Seeking forgiveness rather than permission is an unofficial business approach.

The IT businesses of 2024 are determined to disassociate themselves from that stigma.
