iOS 18: Apple's Cloud AI Processing with Silicon

Prathima

Apple is implementing AI features in its devices using high-end chips in cloud-computing servers.

The first AI server chips will be the M2 Ultra, launched last year as part of the Mac Pro and Mac Studio computers.

The company is also considering future versions based on the M4 chip.

The move is part of Apple's push into generative artificial intelligence, which is behind ChatGPT and other popular tools.

Apple's cloud-based approach will likely require more complex jobs, such as generating images or creating long-form responses in emails.
