US Newspapers File Lawsuit Against OpenAI

IndustryTrends

Eight US newspapers filed a complaint against OpenAI and Microsoft in a New York federal court on Tuesday.

The complaint is for accusing the tech titans of illegally using their copyrighted content.

The newspapers claim that these corporations should utilize their material with their permission and provide adequate pay.

The action further alleges that OpenAI and Microsoft's AI systems not only copy news stories verbatim but also generate deceptive ascribed to the outlets.

Examples include a fictional Denver Post story suggesting smoking as an asthma therapy and a bogus Chicago Tribune endorsement for a baby lounger.
