UK School Pupils Exploit AI to Create Inappropriate Images of Their Classmates

IndustryTrends

A group of child abuse and technology specialists has warned that youngsters in British schools are using AI to create inappropriate photos of other children.

They said that for the first time, several schools were reporting that students were employing AI-generating technology.

This is to make photographs of children that legally constituted child sexual abuse material.

The images were "terrifyingly" realistic, according to Emma Hardy, head of the UK Safer Internet Centre (UKSIC).

According to UKSIC, a child-protection charity, schools must move quickly to implement stronger blocking mechanisms against child abuse content.
