Twitter Confirms Verified Spam Issue Amid New DM Settings Rollout

IndustryTrends

As Twitter battles fresh competition from Instagram Threads, the business unveiled a tweak aimed at reducing spam in users' inboxes.

Starting "as soon as" July 14, Twitter will implement a new messaging option targeted at decreasing spam in direct messages.

This is done by redirecting communications from Verified users you don't follow to your "Message Request" inbox rather than your main inbox.

Messages from individuals you follow will now only arrive in your primary inbox.

Notably, these modifications will now apply to everyone who has their inboxes set to accept messages from anybody.
