Tier 2-3 city customers fueled Amazon India's festive sale

Amazon India's Great Indian Festival set a new record with 110 crore customer visits, primarily from tier 2 and 3 cities.

Premium product demand, especially smartphones, surged during the festival, with a 2.5 times increase in premium smartphone sales compared to the previous year.

Amazon also saw a significant rise in Prime sign-ups, with over 65% of new Prime members hailing from tier 2 and 3 cities.

EMI options were popular, with 1 in 4 purchases made on EMI and 3 in 4 on 'No Cost EMIs,' offering affordability.

Categories like jewelry, premium smartwatches, and premium appliances, including ACs, experienced substantial growth during the festival, with many customers upgrading to premium appliances.
