Telegram offers a free premium plan but with privacy risk

Telegram announced a new Peer-to-Peer Login program that promises a free subscription to its $4.99-per-month Premium plan.

the Premium plan will be available for free but will receive OTP codes that need to be forwarded to the intended recipients.

Telegram will be using your number to send up to 150 OTP messages to help other people log in to their Telegram accounts. 

The offer is only available for Android users.

This Telegram scheme violates the purpose of multi-factor authentication in which your phone number plays a major security role.
