London Stock Exchange Adds Bitcoin, Ethereum ETNs from May

The London Stock Exchange plans to list Bitcoin and Ethereum ETNs by late May, following FCA's stance change.

Applications for Bitcoin and Ethereum ETNs can be made starting on April 8, with a deadline of April 15 for proposals aiming for a May 28 listing date.

 The London Stock Exchange will launch a market for Bitcoin and Ethereum ETNs on May 28, 2024.

Crypto ETNs on the London Stock Exchange will be exclusive to professional investors due to the FCA's ban on selling to retail consumers since January 2021.

 Issuers must comply with stringent requirements, including physical backing and secure storage, by April 15 for May 28 trading.
