How Ripple's CEO Debunked the Fake Hack News

IndustryTrends

A hacker stole 213 million XRP tokens worth $112.5 million from several personal accounts of Ripple's executive chair Chris Larsen on Tuesday.

The hacker laundered the stolen funds through multiple exchanges, such as MEXC, Gate, Binance, Kraken, OKX, HTX, and HitBTC.

Larsen notified the affected exchanges and law enforcement agencies to freeze the addresses and track the hacker.

Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse clarified that no Ripple-managed wallets were compromised and blamed the incident on irresponsible speculation and reporting.

Garlinghouse also warned the XRP community to be vigilant and avoid suspicious links and emails.
