Google's new policy: Inactive accounts will be deleted after 2 years

IndustryTrends

Google reserves the right to delete personal Google Accounts and their data if they are inactive across Google for at least two years.

This policy does not apply to Google Accounts that were set up for work, school, or other organizations.

Google defines activity as any action taken when signed in or while signed in to a Google Account, such as reading an email, watching a YouTube video, or using Google Search.

Google will send multiple warning notifications to affected Google Accounts and their recovery emails before deleting them.

This policy does not apply to some accounts, including those that have purchased a Google product or service, have a balance on a gift card, are the owner of a published app or game, or are responsible for overseeing a minor's Family Link account.
