IndustryTrends

Google's cloud revenue grew by 35% year over year in Q2 2022, but missed analysts' expectations and slowed down from the previous quarter.

Google's cloud business also reported a loss of $858 million, higher than the $591 million loss in Q2 2021.

Google's cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the company is investing in long-term growth and innovation, and expects to see more demand for cloud services in the post-pandemic era.

Google's advertising revenue, on the other hand, surged by 69% year over year in Q2 2022, driven by the recovery of online activity and consumer spending.

Google's advertising business accounted for 81% of its total revenue, while its cloud business represented only 9%.
