IndustryTrends

Fifteen consortiums have filed for the opportunity to establish an AI Centre of Excellence charged with applicable Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Union Finance Minister announced the establishment of three Centres of Excellence in AI in agriculture, health, and sustainable cities with a union budget of ₹300 crore.

The Centre of Excellence on AI for Sustainable Cities will work to assist smart cities in reducing energy consumption in target sectors by 15%.

It also works on reducing air and water pollution by 10%; and improving sewage and garbage disposal outcomes by 25%.

This results in a reduction in pollutant levels in rivers and seas, as well as an increase in water and solid waste reclamation; and improving transportation access.
