Alibaba Shares Its AI Model Tongyi Qianwen with the Public

Alibaba announced that it would open its AI model Tongyi Qianwen to the public, allowing other organizations and individuals to use it for various purposes.

Tongyi Qianwen is a large language model that can perform tasks such as summarizing meeting notes, drafting emails, giving shopping advice, and more.

The move indicates that Alibaba has gained Chinese regulatory approval to mass-market the AI model.

Alibaba's Cloud division's chief, former group CEO Daniel Zhang, stepped down from his post and was replaced by a newly installed.

Alibaba first unveiled Tongyi Qianwen in April, saying that it would integrate the AI model into all of its business applications.
