AI Compute Facility to be Set up with Rs 10,372 Crore under India AI Mission

On March 7, the Union Cabinet approved a Rs 10,371.92-crore AI initiative targeted at developing computer infrastructure through public-private partnerships.

Under the India AI program, which was authorized by the Cabinet, the government would assist in the creation and deployment of indigenous big multimodal models.

Additionally, the India AI program would assist in accelerating deep-tech AI firms.

According to a government statement, efforts will be made to undertake responsible AI initiatives, such as the creation of indigenous tools and frameworks.

Aside from that, under the India AI program, the government will aim to reduce obstacles to entrance into AI programs and expand AI courses at the undergraduate, master's, and PhD levels.
